Provided by the tourist board on Thursdays. We went last week and there were only 8 of us on a 25 seater bus. This tour is not well promoted but was fantastic. Left at 8.45 back at 4. Went to a handicrafts exibit, 2 wine tastings (the first we had about 3 glasses each and a table of food snacks!) churches, Museums, hill towns. English speaking guide. see

That is great. I hope that the private tour proponents will not be offended that there is another coach tour recommendation LOL.

I like the idea of a coach tour to meet people and to enjoy with others the pleasures of Chianti and at a very reasonable price.

Thanks for posting this.

The same "APT" website has other offers, including 10% discounts at both Hotels and Restaraunts this summer in Florence for American Travelers.

Its called the Fiorino Effect

firenzeturismo.it/en_EN/special-promotions/t…

I was able to get a 10% discount at the hotel that I planned to book, which made it easy, when going back and forth between several similar choices.

Thanks again

I'm just back from Florence and this trip was the highlight of my visit.

If you are there on a Thursday and have the entire day 8:45 am until about 5:00 pm. Its about the nicest day you could have.

Like the orig. poster, our trip was "lite" about 16 people in a bus that held 24...everyone but us, had been to a local tourist office looking for a tour.

Don't worry about the price 15 euro.... It's as good as those costing ten times more (yes... I had alrady taken another one)

Its not just wine (2 wineries) but also lunch, churches, museums, small walled towns, craftsmen, showrooms and nice people.

The day is spent about half way between Florence and Sienna.. the air was cool and the scenery was beautiful. I think the lunch was the best we had in Florence...

PM me if you want more info

I saw this message a while ago... and sent an email to inquire about availability.... and just now realized that they haven't responded to me. Is there a better way to get in touch (there are 3 email addresses listed on their website)?

Hmm, I wonder if I should write again or just be patient? There are 6 of us so I don't want to just show up at the tourist office, I would prefer to book.

But thanks for this info, I hope it works out for us!

Right, but I'm in canada and only have a cell phone, so phoning italy would be outrageously expensive.

Hmm, any other thoughts?

Skype rates from your computer are more than reasonable. You need to download the sw and have decent sound in the PC. Then you buy credits from Skype and you are on.

And if you have friends or associates with Skype, it is free.
