Hello all,

Is the train the best way to get from Florence to Padua for a day trip? I'm doing research for my senior thesis involving medieval Italian art and really want to see the Capella degli Scrovegni, but I'm afraid that 15 minutes won't be nearly enough time. I know that there's a doppio turno ticket offered in the evening, but it looks like the last train leaves around 19:30, so I wouldn't be able to make it back to Florence. This is probably a silly question, but do you think I'd have any trouble reserving two tickets say an hour apart and just pay to go twice? I'm assuming not since as long as they get you're money they're happy! Also, any suggestiongs on the best day of the week to go? I can pretty much go any day between 3-13 August. Besides the Chapel, the Church of the Eremitani, and the baptistery, are there any other things I should try to see while I'm in Padua?

Thanks in advance!

The eurostar runs about every hour from Padova to Florence and the other way Florence to Padova. The trip is about 2 hours. You could leave 8 am and be in Padove by 10 visit the chaple and if you needed more time hang out during lunch and then do another couple of hours after 3 pm and catch the 5 pm train to be back in Florence.

Keep in mind that if you buy a train ticket and do not book seats you can catch which ever train you need. Always use the train Italia site in Italian and it will give you more options for travel.

Good luck
