I saw the website of the tourist board that was just posted , and it seems that there are so many palazzi and major sights to see. I do need to spend 1 day at Staglieno, and then will have the evening and next day , maybe next day and a half. I need 2 moderately priced trattoria recommendations, and I find it is hard to tell which palazzi and museums (besides the Palazzo Bianco -which seems like the most important collection) I need to squeeze in.

Any ideas?

Also, I read that the opera has last minute tickets. Does anyone know when to que up to be sure to get them?

The Staglieno cemetery has certainly quite interesting monuments if you like that kind of art, but one full day seems quite exaggerated.

My personal suggestions in terms of museums and places to visit are:

- Palazzo Ducale (an absolute must)

- Galleria Nazionale di Palazzo Spinola

- Palazzo Reale

- Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Rosso (they are one opposite the other)

The Museo del Mare is also interesting.

As for trattorias, I like a few of those reviewed here on TripAdvisor ( e.g. Vico Palla, Cantine Squarciafico -- both in the historic center), and I also like Bicu in the 'Porto Antico' (i.e. harbor front) area (a must see in its own right) -- www.bicu.it

I don't particularly like 'Da Maria', although people rave about it.

Sorry, I don't know about last minute tickets at the Carlo Felice opera house.

Thanks F.F. I need to do some research at Staglieno, and I hear it is large, so that is the reason I am allowing 1 full day, though if I can finish early I will run off to a museum. I am really thankful for the priority list, and will follow your advice . I will check out the restaurants also, and once again you have put my anxieties to rest. Thanks. I will guide you around Philadelphia in gratitude. You are the best trip advisor a lady could have!!!
