We (my husband, 5 year old, and I) will be arriving in Genoa in the afternoon and spending 2 and a half days prior to taking our cruise from Savona. I'm thinking to visit the Aquario the day we arrive.

The next day, I thought we'd spend in Portofino, Santa Margherita, and Rapallo.

What do you think? What can we do the day after? Visit the Cinque Terre, other towns in the ligurian coast or simply stay in Genoa.

The last day I think should go to La Cita dei Bambini since we have till 13:30 to meet the cruise operators.

I need your help!

Portofino and Santa Margherita are both wonderful to visit. We haven't been to Rapallo.

I'd certainly try to see CT while in the area. It's a 1.5-2 hour train ride to Riomaggiore, the southernmost village.

Do you hink it's easy to do the Cinque Terre with a five year old?

I don't know about "easy" you'd have to keep eye on them if you walk some of the paths. The towns shouldn't be a problem though.

With a 5 year old on the CT, you'd had to carry them a fair bit. We did see an Italian granny aged about 70 doing the first part in slippers, but can't imagine she did the whole CT. You can also do boat trips from CT towns back to Rapallo.

It's quite late but it could be useful in future.

Avoid Rapallo has really nothing special.

Consider Camogli, I think it has nothing to envy to Portofino.

If you have enough time, take also the boat from Santamargherita or Camogli to San Fruttuoso, it is the best place you could visit.

So, I can suggest you the best places to visit around Genoa are: Portofino, Camogli and San Fruttuoso (only by boat this one).

Hi,

you can do in this way. In the morning catch the train to Santa Margherita Ligure. Visit the town. From here you can take the boat to Camogli with stops in Portofino and San Fruttuoso. You will need 2H for Portofino and 1H for San Fruttuoso. In Camogli you can catch the train back to Genova. I think your child will enjoy the boat and in this way you will have a good view on the coast.

In Santa margherita Ligure you have to go to Bar Vittoria and try it gelato al Gianduia.

Cheers
