Hotel Oceania or 66 Imperial Inn? |
|
We are 2 families traveling to Rome for a week in August with 9 and 12 year old kids. First trip to Rome! Hotel Oceania is approx. 15 Euros more per night; not a big deal. Is one located better than the other in regards to walking distance to most Rome attractions? Also, interested if one has a more restaurants near by and closeness to public transportation. Thanks for all your help! |

There were some interesting discussions earlier about your hotel choices. Here's the tripadvisor link, just cut and paste: …tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187791-i22-k2024…

I did read the comments about 66 Imperial Inn. Anyone have any info. regarding a preference as to location, restaurants, and proximity to attractions? Thanks.

We took our family to Rome last month and stayed at the Oceania and thought it was great. (see reviews on hotels page). Our kids are 10 and 7 and a couple of times we walked to wherever we were going. The hotel is on a quiet side street off Via Nazionale, which has the metro and lots of buses. Ask at the hotel which bus you need to get, walk 2 minutes down to Via Nazionale, get 1 euro ticket for each adult(kids free) from the tobacco kiosks...get on the bus....easy ! Hotel recommended very good restaurants nearby. Lots of shops on Via Nazionale, so easy to stock up on drinks and stuff for the kids. I'd certainly recommend it ....

My wife and I went to Rome last week on our honeymoon. 66 imperil Inn is a great B&B just in the middle of the old town. I'm very glad we chose to try it. .Four days aren't much for Rome, obviously. If you only go to Vaticano, Collisseum, the two most obvious destinations in Rome, to stay here is definitely a better option. As an added bonus, lovely natives who were super nice to this American couple. They do have a 24 hour reception.

I just got back from Rome and our group of three women stayed at Hotel Oceania and loved it. Extremely clean, the staff is wonderful and very helpful, free Internet, great breakfast. I wrote a review for the hotel section. pam

I 'd been in Rome and stayed at 66 imperial Inn and loved. We came from Venice by train. I've been ripped off by so many hotels that I no longer trust the travel forum. There's so many hotels in Rome that there have to be a few that suit your requirements. 66 imperial can't miss. Very easy to arrive and going out to nicer parts of Rome.

Thank you for all your input! We chose 66 Imperial Inn. Will post a review when we return in August.
