The train doesn't run into the Pyrenees, it only heads up to Perpignan via Girona and Figueres.

You can go to the lower part of the Pyrenees by train from Barcelona using the "Barcelona - La Tor de Carol" line. I suggest you going to "Ribes de Freser" and from there going to the Nuria valley. The area is really good for hiking.

Hi!

It makes no sense at all to take a train from Barcelona to Ribes de Fresser and later drive to Vielha. Ribes de F and Vielha are in very different areas of the Pyrenees, different valleys, to drive from one to the other will cost more than drive directly from Barcelona to Vielha

If you can't or want to drive, there are buses from Barcelona to Vielha, Pont de Suert and other towns in the Pyrenees
