The Cleanest Cities of Spain

On July 1 of 2008, the ATEGRUS Organization (Asociacion Tecnica para la Gestion de Residuos y Medio Ambiente) awarded its Platinum Broom Awards. They give their awards every two years.

Oviedo and San Sebastian were named the cleanest cities of Spain, with four Platinum Brooms for each one.

Two Broom Winners:

Valencia, A Coruña, Bilbao, Cádiz and Pamplona.

Silver Broom Winners (first time winners):

Cartagena, Granada, Aviles, Mijas, Rota, Altea, Campello, and Utrera.

Gold Broom Winners (Silver Broom Winners in the past):

Valladolid, Almería, Elche, Roquetas de Mar, Gandía, Fuengirola, Ávila, Chipiona, and Barakaldo.

I was recently in Oviedo and San Sebastian and their cleanliness really impressed me.
