Is there a large super/hyper market in the area (Carrefour etc.), I'm sure there is but on which road?

Thanks.

Hi

Yeah we have a lot of hypermarkets and supermarkets.

The supermarkets are in the urban area and the hyper are in the city limits..

To help you better... can you tell me what are you searching? do you have a car?

I supouse you are searching food... if you g oto the uran supermarkket you will find a good amount of stuff.. but if you want a large selection you must go to the hypermarkets...

A good supermarket example its in this street

This one its easy to find... it its in the Boulevard..the last bridge in the sea direction if you crooss it letting to your back the horrible Moneo Cubes you will be in the boulevard, in the left side you wll find one the adress its this one..Alameda Boulevard 3

But... Tommorow all its going to be closed in San Sebastian its the day of our Virgin, the great day... and its all closed in spain becuase its a national hollyday..you will must wait to the saturday...

You can find an Hypermarket in the own San Sebastian named Garbera or in a close village named Urbill in Lasarte...

Im thinking was more easy for you...Garbera its in "barrio" names intxaurrondo and if you take the outside city ring you must go in the France direction untill you will see Intxaurrondo announced.

Do you have gps?

Thanks, I'll find them. We're not travelling there until tomorrow so we'll be fine, I assume they will be open late on Saturday?

You easiest bet would be Super Amara, in the centre of town. It is not as big as a Carrefour but for grocery shopping, it will have everything you need. I believe it closes at 9, Monday thru Saturday.

It is located below the Mercado San Martin, a newer building quite near the cathedral. In the same building is Fnac, Zara, and Bershka. It's hard to miss.

As for hypermarkets, the ones already listed will do. You take the "Usurbil" exit to get to Urbil (from the motorway, south of San Sebastian) and you take the "Intxaurrondo" exit to get to Garbera (north of San Sebastian). Carrefour is on the national highway from San Sebastian to Irun near a town called Oiartzun, the exit is Oiartzun and the shopping centre is called Mamut.

Caronte:

As an aside, do the majority of residents of your city dislike the Moneo cubes? I was recently in your city and did notice that its architecture broke with the majority of the architecture in the center of the city. I am curious to learn more about the attitudes of your people to this type of architecture.

I live in Malaga and most modern architects in this city want to make a name for themselves and break completely with the past. They have come up with the ugliest forms of architecture. People come to Andalusia to see something typical and come up with ugly buildings that have nothing to do with Andalusia.

Hi

Yes lol its true the Moneo cubes tottally dislikes me. And its true when they were build the most of the city oppose to their construction.

Why i find its horrible?

Well theres many reasons to dislike me and i will try explain you why in my terrible english :)

The first you must to know its that in the place where today you can find that devils damm were the old Casino of San Sebastian and i liked this build tottally integrated in the Gros (the city zone like i supouse you know) Architecture.

I almost grow up in Gros because my gradparents lived ( my gradmother died 4 years ago to the 94 R.I.P) in the Tomas

Gros building in front to the Santa Catalina bridge, so its a place of city who bring many memories for me.

I like the Gros archichecture and i liked the old casino building.

Here you have how looked

donostimagictour.com/images/antigua7.gif

How it looked since the Kursal bridge

javierortiz.net/ant/…image004.gif

And how looks now since the same point of view

…wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/db/…

You said that their archichecture broke whit the most of the city image... and thats the problem.. why broken it?

I know we needed a congress build..but why this and there? The moneo cubes have are not integrated whit their media... its like a bull whit t.i.t.s.

Other question its in the same cubes...are horrible...their looks its...GRRRRRR i have a rich spanish and its hard for me use just horrible and terrible..

so i will say that i dont have words in englishto express how much i dislike their desingn and the materials used in the build .

This human abortion just improve by the night when the lights are on...

Dont think its juts i have a clasical mind.. My mother study the arts career in the university and if its true she likes more the clasiccal and im obviusly influeced by her point of view, and i love to Tiziano,El bosco,El Greco for me Velazquez its a semi-god of the paint..but its true too that i like

Pissaro,Manet,Van Gogh... and Dali its in my top five fauvorite painters. I said that to express its not a problem of my closed mind..Are just..Horrible lol :)

And finatly...they dont work for the purpouse were build.... Like auditorium some Opheras can not be mount by their design...Thx godlike i am 32 years old

i dont have any prostate troubles ( and i hope never do it ) but i heard more than one time to older man saying pest about the cubes because the WC are far

away and bad locates ( Many people call its the "Nomeo Cubes" "I dont pee Cubes".

Finatly, im not a "melomano" but one of my best friend ever, have radio program in Radio Nacional Classica and he say this could sound lots better like auditorium.

So Thats why i hate its. Because broken whit the enviromente where are implated, are ugly and bad designed.

I supouse you like them and i supouse too you have some kind of relation whit the architecture, i respect you opinion (im not an integrist whit my points of view)

but if you like them i dont share it :).

Caronte, Charon the old boatman :)
