Dont know what you expect from Carihuela. The area never really closes but is only full of overpriced restaurants&shop after shop selling the same handbags, shoes, leather etc. There is not really any entertainment or cafe/bars.You will need to venture further afield.

Oscar1000 provides you with an opinion about La Carihuela not the definitive answer about what it is like.

It is in actual fact one of the liveliest places on the Costa del Sol in November and people who go often find they never particularly need to go elsewhere for anything. The place is full of bars and cafes (some of them right on the beach - chiringuitos) as well as restaurants (with prices to suit any wallet). Some restaurants are more expensive than others - none are over expensive, the quality in virtually all of them extremely good. La Carihuela is known throughout Spain as an area to eat out well and at the weekend in particular you'll find the place packed with families from Málaga, other parts of Andalucía, and indeed Madrid all here for the food and atmosphere.

Please do not take the opinion of one person as fact - you will more than likely be positively surprised when you go in November.

I agree with Malagogo, there's usually plenty going on in Carihuela in November and right up to and including Christmas - the only quieter time is January and early Feb when some of the restaurants and bars close for annual holidays and refits.

Lots of different restaurants and cafe-bars to choose from. If you want late night clubbing its only a short walk along to Benalmádena Marina or up into Torrie Town (it's more gay/mixed in Torrie Town, so busy all year round!).

Torremolinos is a year round resort. In October thousands of northern Europeans rent apartments to spend the winter here and go back home during spring and summer. Few places shut down because there are always vacationers who come.

I live in Malaga but I have a seafood lunch at Bajondillo Beach every single Sunday with my wife, after taking a long and relaxing walk by the beach.
