Go to Fuengirola and see their zoo. It is a small zoo, but one of the world's best. Everyone will enjoy it, no matter what age.

The storm is due to have blown out by Monday, and the forecast isn't too bad. Has he been before? If not, then even a 12yo will probably be interested in the different things in the shops in Torrie Town. If that's no good you could always get the train to Plaza Major (3 stops) which is a large entertainments (and now shopping as well) zone. There's a multiplex cinema which has English language films on. It's also across the road from IKEA ;-) Or a day trip into Málaga itself (train again) is always interesting, even if there is a bit of rain. Nearest train station to Carihuela is either Montemar Alto (up the hill, see Google maps) or Torrie Town, depending on which end of Carihuela you are in.
