We are staying at this hotel from 9th Sept for 10 days. The write ups were very good 6 months ago when we booked it, Can anyone reccomend any good restaurants or bars with entertainment in the vicinity of the hotel,

The Tib is slap-bang in the middle of Carihuela village so you have hundreds of restaurants and bars to choose from, of all types!

Casa Juan for the in-the-square seafood experience; La Lonja is excellent all round; Pascal for meat; Levante for a good cheap steak 'n' chips or boquerones; El Tralle for tapas; Rias de Galicia for a perfect select-anything-from-our-gourmet menu, only €21 for all four courses; Cervera for cheap quick boquerones and vino at lunchtime; El Roqueo, La Cigala, Antonio to push the boat out; Bodegas for good cheap fun; El Mojito for that essential Full English (even though they're from Norn Iron).

Not sure about entertainment as such, but I think Hotel Pez Espada (along the paseo towards Benalmádena Marina) has some.

The Tib is a great budget hotel, endlessly popular with friends who come to stay. Hope you realise it's no-smoking throughout though!

Thanks for your reply. Have took names of the restaurants. We have both stopped smoking 2 years ago so that wont be a problem.

Good list submited by NoSoy. I would like to especially recommend La Tralla on C/ Bulto for great tapas. Presume El Tralle is one and the same.

Whoops! I meant La Tralla, yes. Their tapas is lovely and I could do with some now but I'm stuck in wet wet wet England at the moment....

Me too NoSoy. I'll have to wait until the 7th of October though before I can back to the Carihuela. Counting the days!!

Just arrived back today from Tiburon&it is still as good as ever. Its been so hot but no aircon. There is a ceiling fan in the room which is always set to the slow setting which is useless.Pull the cord on fan&it will speed up which makes a big difference although when you return to your room it will be returned to the slow setting.Economy drive, maybe.Television in room with BBC&ITV.We stay regularly&are next there 14thsept.so if I hear a Lancashire accent, will know its you.Breakfast from 8.30-10.00&consists of cheese, meat, cereals, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, etc, etc. All buffet. They have croquet potatoes for breakfast, which sounds strange, but they are lovely dipped in the eggs.If you want entertainment, head up to Montemar area(10mins walk).Live music, kareoke, disco,or go and get mugged at a music bar in Benalmadena marina(20mins walk).24hr sq.is only 6e in a taxi from Tiburon.TIP:If you are on a low floor,Keep your balcony door closed at night cos mozzies meet around the pool&afterwards go for a meal.

Forgot to add,the hotel bar opens at 2.00pm in the afternoon and does not close until 8.00am in the morning. As the breakfasts dont start until 8.30,it gives you enough time to get freshened up.

thanks oscar1000. Hate mossies, didnt think there would be many in sept. Now I know I will take some repellant. We are always at breakfast early so if you see a small blonde haired woman (short hair) lancashire accent with large short haired bloke with yorkshire accent then it will be us. Looking forward to it, first time to Torremolinas.

Nice one re bar and breaky's Oscar, made me laugh. I think one of the best things about the Tiburon is the bar, we've had some good nights in there after our jaunts around the area. Maybe catch you in there one of these fine days. Yes trevann, you will love it!
