We are staying in Koblenz and want to visit the castle Burg Eltz but I have a big fear of heights. It sounds as if the roads are narrow and in the past we have been lost in a rental car and almost went off a cliff in Greece. Are there organized tours that will take us to the castle from Koblenz with local guides? My husband thinks we should go for it but I don't want to tell him I don't trust his driving in the mountains anymore. Thanks

Normal route from Koblenz would be train to Moselkern and than walk (~ 30 min). KD boat to Moselkern is also an option.

It's an nice and easy walk. Unlike the most other castles Eltz does not sit on the rocks towering above the Rhine/Moselle, but in a side valley of the Moselle.

If you travel by car you've either to park also at Moselkern. Or approaching the castle from the rear side. But also here you have to walk 15 min or so. There are no parking places next to the castle. That's adds actually to the magic of this castle.

You could try to sell him the combination to go by boat one way. This excludes the car anyway. This is actually also recommended on the Burg Eltz homepage

We took the train to Moselkern, and then had a taxi waiting there to drive us to Burg Eltz(between $20 and $25). We then walked from the castle back to the train station-nice path through the woods-the walk took about 90 minutes.

we drove to Burg Eltz and there are no scary roads or cliffs, no mountains just a normal drive. We actually parked in the parking lot near the walk down the hill to the castle, they also have a bus that will take you up or down the hill for a few euros. The walk down isn't so bad, it's that walk back up.
