For your price, you'll find little in central Stuttgart. You might like to try Alex 30 Hostel ( www.alex30-hostel.de ) which has triple rooms and also apartments, and the youth hostel, Jugendherberge Stuttgart International (www.jugendherberge-stuttgart.de ) whose standard rooms are 4 beds and has been recently renovated to make it one of the nicest hostels in Germany and also has nice views.

Otherwise, consider staying further from the center of town where rooms of this price may be available. Stuttgart has excellent public transportation so that almost anywhere can be quickly accessed by it.

Both the Köhler and Stern are near your price limit if they can put another bed into the room for your child. They are between the zoo and mineral baths and central Stuttgart and close to three U-bahn lines to quickly access anywhere in Stuttgart including the zoo. Doubles are 60-80€ Köhler, 58-68€ Stern.

Most hotel rooms can be reserved from the city tourist information office ( www.stuttgart-tourist.de ) which also has other information on Stuttgart.

By the way, the zoo ( www.wilhelma.de ) opens every day at 8:15 (I'll probably be the first person in line!- make sure to see the gorilla orphanage, and there are also animals in the plant greenhouse areas), and the mineral baths much earlier. The Leuze one has a Kinderland.
