HI,

We are 3 students aged 19 who are going to Old Trafford between 27 and 30 of December 2009, we would like to choose a cheap hotel which is nice clean and in the center of manchester so it would be easy for shopping, entertainment, but not far from Manchester United stadium because we are going to see manchester UNited playing M'Boro.

Can you all give us some advise about this?? maybe some hotels, places where to go, things to do??? Please This is our first in England.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gauci G.

Ibis or any of the premier lodges will probably be best. From what you say I would say you should book a hotel in the city centre. THe football ground is then an easy tram ride away either on the eccles or altringham services.

Bascially anything in the centre for you budget will suit and getting to old trafford is easy

Hi, if you put "shopping" in the Manchester search box above you will find lots of suggestions. The City is a shoppers paradise.

Put "bars and restaurants" in the same box and you will find no end of advice.

Good to hear from you, I lived in Malta for 12 months, many years ago.

Hi, Agree with Ibis hotels, am sure there is one on Portland st, which is straight in the centre of town and also 10 minutes walk to Piccadilly stn, where you can get the tram to Old trafford. You might also try the midland hotel which do weekend deals.MUFC champions.
