website for multiple airlines |
|
I saw the name of a website for airline prices which showed many different airlines at the same time on this forum somewhere. I can't find it again. Does anyone know of a good air fare website? Thanks |
|
Is this what you are looking for? I got this from airfarewatchdog.com which is an wonderful took for allerting you to good flights from your local airport. I use it often.

TOOL not took lol Im sure you knew what I meant.

travelocity.com will give you rate updates as well. You just pick which airports you are interested in flying from. Heck, I can't even get them to stop sending me updates after my trip is over.
|
I think it might be Kayak.com, you put in your home airport and list the destination. You can even sign up for alerts.

Howdy k1, Yes, as mentioned you probably mean Kayak.com, or sidestep.com. These sites are what they call agregators. They will search several hundred sites at once. But, they do not search every site. Some airlines do not allow these sites to search their sites. So you may have to do some more homework. Happy trails, SandBilly

I think it mighy be www.gocompare.com

Although this article dates back to 2004, it does mention a number of these aggregators, and the pros and cons: washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45450-20… Graphic Comparing Aggregators:

I believe what you are looking can be found by going to TA Home, clicking on flights and then entering you desired dates and destinations. The next screen will allow you to preform that search on multiple air fare websites and the results (for me at least) pop up each in their own window.

I recently flew to Ireland from Dallas and got my tickets on something like cheaptickets.com or kayak.com or something like that...WHATEVER YOU DO....MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR A CONNECTING FLIGHT!!! Being completely in the dark about these things, I got tickets with only an hour and a half layover in Boston. Due to mechanical problems in Dallas, I missed my Aer Lingus flight and was told the next flight was the next day. Because they determined it was not my fault, I was able to get a flight a few hours later on Air France to Paris, then back over to Dublin...it would have been much easier if I had know to allow more time between layovers!

How right you are, texan. Friends of mine realized a few weeks in advance of their flight that the time between flights would be very tight. Got written confirmation from Aer Lingus of the length of time needed for check in etc for an international flight, forwarded it to Expedia, or whoever they had the deal with. US connecting flight was then changed for them at no extra cost.
