Killarney B&Bs |
|
Does anyone have an opinion on the better B&B between Elyod House, Woodlands and Redwood Country house? They all accept vouchers so have made the first cut. Any comments? |

I do not but, Vouchers are the biggest daylight robbery tactic going if you got them from Irish Rail(CIE) or Bus Eireann(Irish Bus). Most B&Bs and the best of them do not bother with vouchers because there is no saving to be made, rather the opposite. Killarney is Beautiful and jammed with B&Bs Elyod house is not within walking distance of the Town. Its around 15 minutes walk and around €10 taxi Redwood is in a little better location just past the Tesco Shopping Centre on the Tralee road. I cannot find a listing for Woodlands.

We just stayed at the Redwood country house and I would highly recommend it. Very pretty house and grounds, large rooms and really wonderful breakfast made to order.

Our vouchers are part of a whole drive-yourself package we purchased through a travel agent - definitely not bus or train related but that is not to say they aren't a pain to have. I would never buy them again now that I hear how little they benefit the B&B owners and have found it tough to book a B&B that will accept them in certain areas ie Cork. I wish I had known sooner.

although I stayed at a hotel in town, my friends stayed at Ashville house in Killarney. It was cute, clean place and was within walking distances to the city center. I don't know if they take vouchers. Killarney has tons of B&Bs so you have a good selection.

Hard to beat Eloyd House; yes its not very central but you will not have a better B&B experience in Ireland let alone Killarney.

i stayed at woodlands b&b in 2002 and patrick and julia are really really lovely folks....their b&b is ok but not fancy...it is clean but aged...also has a great breakfast...but no where near walking distance of killarney...i know their website www.stayatwoodlands.com says it is, but it definitely isn't....lol.... sadly with you having vouchers, your choices are limited....
