Hi,

We visited Ireland last year and part of our trip took us through Killarney and on the road up to Ladies View. I remember leaving the town of Killarney and on the left hand side set back from the road were maybe 3 or 4 newish looking hotels - all looked quite large and quite high end. They definitely weren't in the town itself but standing on their own in grounds. Can anybody give me some names for these hotels please to look into rates etc.

Thanks

There's the Hotel Europe in Fossa and the Loch Lein Hotel also in Fossa. I don't know anything about Hotel Europe but we stayed 3 nights at Loch Lein and absolutely loved it. It is secluded and has a lovely view of one of the Killarney lakes. Be sure to go to the Gap of Dunloe in the early evening when all the crowds have left and after your walk enjoy a meal at Kate Kearney's cottage.

Hi scottishtraveller

It must have been the Muckross Road you were on going towards Ladies View.

You have The Lake Hotel on the right side beautiful hotel and the view is breathtaking. Killarney Oaks Hotel is another one along with Muckross Park Hotel.,this hotel also has self catering homes next door. The Gleneagle Hotel is geared towards families but the Brehon is a sister hotel and is lovely.

My suggestion would be the Lake Hotel, lovely and quiet and not too far from the town to walk. They are all doing specials at the moment and depending on what month you would like to visit they will have special rates from now until the end of the year.
