We would like to take our three year out for a fun weekend breakfast - nothing fancy, but perhaps with some different yummy options.

Any suggestions around Western Road or downtown?

Lucy you have GOT to go to Liberty Grill on Washington street which is just an extension of Western road. Trust me on this one, and wee ones are more than welcome as they provide high chairs.

While hubby munches on Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, you can help junior with his/her pancakes with separate jug of chocolate sauce and cream. It's a little more expensive then other breakfast places, but it won't break the bank.

Fresh Orange juice and Cafetiere of coffee will finish off the meal.

Oh and if you wait long enough, you can stay for lunch and dinner too. Yummmmmm. They don't take bookings for breakfast and you may have to queue for a few minutes, but IT IS WORTH IT.

Check out the menu here www.libertygrillcork.com and be prepared to drooooolllllll.

If you want somewhere right in town centre, Scoozi in Winthrop lane is also good, but my preferance is for Liberty. ENJOY

Actually, looking at their online menu, it might break the bank just a little, but you're worth it surely?

How funny! I just read your post - and that is where we ate this morning! It was delicious - little one had pancakes, which were delicious, I had the french toast, and hubby had some sort of breakfast sandwich. We all loved it and will definitely be going back.

We keep hearing about the other spot you mentioned - will look for it this week.

Thanks! You always give great feedback.

So Scoozi is easy to find. Find Brown Thomas shop on Patrick street. Two side streets are adjacent (Winthrop and Maylor). Walk down Winthrop, and there is a laneway right at MacDonalds on the left. (Winthrop Lane) Scoozi is just down that laneway. It's not the most inviting lane but Scoozi will be worth it.

Have you been to The Farmgate in the English Market yet? Nice place for a bit of people watching.

Lucy, another one for you to try out for Brekkie or lunch. It's 'Idaho' on Maylor Street/Corner of Caroline Street.

Maylor Street is my least fav street in Cork but this place gets lots of good feedback. I haven't been there yet, maybe you'll get there before me.

I've been meaning to write about Idaho for some time and when you mentioned it in your post I said I must.

This little coffee shop is just a treasure in the middle of the City and I go there alot I love it.

It is one of the cosiest and not chain-like at all. The individuality is what shines through.

Thanks FEYC, now I know I must go there soon.
