How far to walk? |
|
HI Guys We have just booked to stay at the Kelvingrove Hotel. We are a family of 5 and will be walking to the SECC can anyone tell me how long it will take? Also tips on where to eat around there with kids the youngest is only 17 months. |
|
It's about 20 minutes to walk to the SECC. Have a look at the map on the Kelvingrove Hotel page. Go along Argyle St and turn down Minerva St.Alongside the railway station there is a covered walkway to the SECC. For lunch, the KG cafe in the Kelvingrove Museum basement is excellent.

A few of my favourite places to eat are in the area near the Kelvingrove Hotel - Konaki House on Sauchiehall Street for Greek cuisine, The Thai Siam on Argyle Street for superb Thai cuisine and Mother India Cafe on Dumbarton Road for Indian cuisine. They are all within a 10 minute walk of your hotel and are child-friendly. Enjoy!

Thanks for that guys. Kenko - how much of our journey will be under cover? Ellen - Thanks for the restaurant tips will look into them.

The last time I went past the walkway by the SECC station it was closed for renovations and if you have ever walked through it then you will know why. That was a few weeks ago though. Anyone been down there recently and is it open again? PCEYES the walkway only stretches from the railway station to the just beyond the SEC entrance so maybe 500m or so.

Oh meant to say there is a MacDonalds on Finneston Street opposite PC world and next to the cop shop. Don't think your 17 month old would really appreciate Indian or Thai food although Mother India is fantastic

You would be surprised what our youngest will eat! But Macdonalds sounds handy aswell!
