I am looking for a quaint self catering cottage outside of Kirkcaldy, does anybody have any recommendations? Ideally, I would like to be 15-20 min by car outside of Kirkcaldy. Has anybody stayed at Salmon Cottage, Kinghorn, Burntisland? or Monziervaird Lochside Estate? Any recommendations you have will be greatly appreciated.

Monzievaird is near Crieff in Perthshire , not really handy for Kirkcaldy. Kirkcaldy itself is not really a holiday area so not many quaint cottages for rent. Go east to the East Neuk of Fife which is full of quaint villages.

If you google East Neuk of Fife and Holiday rental you will find plenty to choose from.

If you tell me what size of cottage (how many people) I will have a look for you.

Also look at Aberdour. It's a really nice wee village on the coast and a bit nearer than the East Neuk.
