I am looking to book a nice hotel for me and my boyfriend for the races in may and few nights in york.I have noticed that even now the hotels are getting booked up for time the race meetings are on.Can anyone reccommend a hotel that would be in good location for both races and sightseeing please?

Hi,

I'm not sure if you want a hotel close to the race course or the centre of town? The race course is about a mile out of the centre of York and a 20-30 minute walk.

If you want to stay on the race course then The Holiday Inn Tadcaster road is for you. If you prefer to stay in town then there's many options depending on your budget.

If I had a choice I'd choose The Dean Court Hotel. Upmarket and hip hotel right next door to York Minister and an easy taxi ride to the race course.
