You can buy The Press as well as view it online. There is one on a Saturday to buy, but not one on a Sunday (I think).

Yes, the press is avaialable in most shops in and around the city and as Yorkie traveller says, it isn't available on a sunday.

If you are visiting the city, Fridays paper is a good one to buy as it tells you what events/arts etc are appearing over the next weekend/weeks.

Thank you but this is my plan:

I contacted the newspaper and asked them if they where interested in wrinting an article about a (crazy) Dane who invited 7 of his friends to York to celebrate his 50th birthday.

I hope they are so proud that I choose York and not any other English city, to celebrate my birthday that they contact me. And to be very, very honest, to appear in the local newspaper may seem a silly thing but for me, loving England as I do, it would be a great birthday present :-)

I thought that if they contact me on friday, I may get the newspaper on saturday. I leave York again on sunday but in worst case scenario, I will leave some money in the B&B so they can send me the paper to Denmark (if, if, if, if... the newspaper contact me).

Most local papers in the UK are used to sending copies to addresses overseas as many ex-pats like to continue to receive their local paper. They will usually do either single copies, or subscriptions.

"Features" are often written weeks or months ahead, though, and used as required to fill in the space not needed for news or adverts, so it might not be published when you are in the UK.

Sounds a great idea and probably somethign that the press would be very interested in! I can think of a lot poorer articles in their in recent times!!!

If you do get in, I would be happy to send you the paper as it clearly means a lot to you.

I wrote to the paper for some days ago but I didn´t get any answer or contact from them...

I will try again because, as you said, because of very strange reasons I would be very happy to appear in a York paper.
