I can understand why you are annoyed but don't you think its a bit unfair to put your complaint on here?, you could have made your complaint to the manager and i'm sure they would have redeemed themselves.I don't think it happened because you are Scottish it was probably just that individual was ignorant to the fact they could have accepted your note.I hope it hasn't put you off York as it's such a great city.

I don't think it's unfair. This site is for all views on where people visit! Not just the good stuff.

her reply was 'I was Scottish and as I had Scottish money meant it was forged!'

Now that isn't just not knowing that she can accept a particular note it was the fact she was stereotying typing people and refusing their money on that basis. So yeah i think it's a fair comment to have how they treat customers written on here.

I agree York is a lovely city and I visit and spend lots there often. However some places need to work big time on their cutomer services!

since then the cafe has changed hands,july '08.when you come to york on your next stay,please come try our home cooked food and cakes.
