Is ticketmaster UK the best way to get advance theatre tickets? |
|
That is where I get them - they charge a small fee but the tickets are face value. I just pick them up at the box office.

Bclark ~ check out TheArtGirl's Sticky at the top of the first page for a theatre website. I got tickets at half price for the play Honour at www.londontheatredirect.com and look at theatremonkey.com to find out what seats are ok and more info about shows & venues. If you search this forum you will find lots of theatre advice. Hope this helps!

The theatre box office is always the best place to get tickets. Look up the theatre on www.theatremonkey.co.uk and try ringing them directly.
|
I've used LastMinute.com And regular poster (and theatre lover!) Bob007 told me about WhatsOnStage.com Get on their mailing list for great specials/offers.

just returned from London do not buy tickets !!!! from the booths unless they display a tick and a star as they will all rip you off ask to see tickets before you hand money over and look at face value or call the theatre direct its better .

<<< Is ticketmaster UK the best way to get advance theatre tickets? >>> Depends on the show. If it's one of the Biggies - Spamalot, Dirty Dancing, Sound of Music, Billy Elliot - it may be the only way unless you turn up at the theatre box office and ask Otherwise www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/tkts may be a better way

I prefer to use seetickets.com rather than ticketmaster for 2 reasons. One being the booking fee is significantly lower than ticketmaster and it all adds up so fast especially if booking multiple tickets. The second is with ticketmaster it gives you no choice in seats, you select the price range and the area but beyond that it offers you seats and if you don't like them it won't offer alternative seats in the same section - see tickets does. See is an official ticket agency just like ticketmaster, and I have no affiliation am just a happy customer. I have used lastminute.com but won't do so again as it doesn't reveal your seat numbers until you pick the tickets up at the theatre. I have used them twice but got lousy seats both times.

Ooops, just realised this was an old thread. Sorry!

I just got GREAT seats to Billy Elliot through SEE Tickets. I'm having them delivered to my rented apartment in London. See has very reasonable fees. My seats came out to 61 pounds each + 1.50 delivery. Another site wanted 75 pounds for seats that were much less desirable. I'm happy...:-)
