Hi I was wondering if anyone knows what bus to get from kings cross to the City road travelodge, and if it's far to walk to and from the stops? Just we'll have luggage so don't know whether to just get a taxi.

Also I'm planning to travel to the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane from the City road travelodge and was wondering what bus to get and where from? or if its just worth getting a taxi as I wont exactly be wearing sensible shoes, so don't really want to be trudging miles from the bus stop.

Does anyone know of any places to grab some breakfast/ evening meals/ occasional pizza etc... in the city road area?

A trip I've made more than a few times.

When you leave KX station (use the way out near WH Smith), look to the left and you'll see a newspaper kiosk. Just in front of that is stop E; take the number 205 towards Mile End.

The 205 stops no more than a metre from the front entrance of the TL City Road; it's stop E. The bus will come around the Old Street roundabout and make a stop near it, but don't alight there although you might be tempted to do so. Stop E is the one you need.

For the return trip, come out of the hotel and look left; stop C is for the 205 towards Paddington (and the Angel and KX) although the 214 will take you there as well.

To get to the old Truman Brewery, the 205 will take you fairly close - alight at the first stop past Aldgate East and walk up Osborn Street, as it becomes Brick Lane.

The 205 will take you past the Shepherdess caff: look left after you pass the Angel and you'll not miss it, as it's lime green. Alight at stop T, just past the place and walk back, which will take about a minute. Yum.

Thanks that's a great help. Will save me some money on cab fares.
