Hi! I will be bringing my HP laptop along on my trip from Minnesota to London. What will I need to use it in the hotel? Do I need an adapter plug? Will I need a voltage converter?

You will need an adapter plug. What does your laptop power pack say? IF it says it can run on 230/240V @ 50Hz it will be okay without a voltage converter. (My HP laptop runs in both Europe and North America.)

You need both an adapter for the plug and a voltage converter.

Hey, thanks! You just saved my some bucks, which it sounds like I will need in London. Sounds like you know a lot about computers: Do you know if Delta flights have power outlets? (Not flying 1st class this time)

TP - OG *might* need a voltage convertor, but is unlikely to.

OG - As Bri said, you need to check the power supply (the external "brick") to your laptop and see input voltage and supply frequency it works with. Most say something like "100 to 240 V, 50-60Hz", in which case it will work fine here with just a physical adptor for the plug.

If it just says "110V, 60Hz", then it will need a voltage adaptor.

Most laptops and other modern electrical appliances are dual voltage, but make sure you check as stated above. For your adaptor, and if you need a voltage converter, you can buy one at any travel store, Target, Radio Shack and so on.
