When I was in London in february I bought everyday a paper travelcard for my son (14) for 1 pound. Is this now only possible with a Oyster photocard for the under 18s? And off-peak paper Travel cards are still available for adults?

£1 is still available - but only to under 16 yr olds

Paper travelcardas are still available but 7 day and longer bougth at Tube stations will be supplied on an Oystercard

Is this so you can get the 2-for-1 offers?

Yes, I want the 2for1 offer. My son doesn't need a Oyster photocard?

For the £1 child travelcard your son must be under 16 (which he is) and travel with you at all times. He does not need a photocard.

Must this Travelcard be purchased at a rail station, or will any Travelcard qualify someone for the 2for1 offers?

webspinner, if only your question had a simple yes or no answer.

Travelcards bought at rail stations and at Underground stations are identical in function, but the place of purchase does seem to make a difference; see the link below for a discussion of the matter.

Yes. It must have the crows foot logo on it (the rail logo).
