I am visiting with my daughter at half term. No visit to the seaside is complete without fish and chips. I know blackpool has establishments a plenty but does anyone have specific recommendations to eat in. We are staying at South Shore. Thanks for any advice offered.

theres a lovely place called 'c fresh'.they do fab food.its near the tower just off the seafront.another place is on lytham rd,i think its called '39 cafe'(opposite a shop that sells and hires baby things, called upsy daisy). all the food is homemade, and tastes absolutley gorgeous.their sunday meals are to die for.

both these places are clean, well priced with excellent food.

Just don't go to Harry Ramsdens.....

Some of the best fish/chip places tend not to be in the tourist areas.

Want to eat where Gordon Ramsay and Rick Stein do?

www.whelansfishandchips.co.uk/whelans.htm

Ok its a touch expensive and its in Lytham

Or Seniors in Blackpool(Normoss)/Clevleys

http://www.thinkseniors.com/

Ok they do close stupidly early but they have a good range of fish and its cheaper than Whelans.

Try not to eat anywhere on the prom.

Yes seniors is one of the better ones but inland a bit in

normoss and thornton, so a car is necessary

The cottage is excellent aLso thats towards the oxford pub at the very topof Waterloo rd

Clevleys try the bus station chippy most locals go there. Can't think of any in south shore though,

not a great eating area

Try Yorkshire fisheries on Topping st in town, good value and clean, they have won many awards for their fish. There is another place on Bond st in south shore but i cant remember the name it is across from the Red Asse restaurant, very clean and good service.
