Fleetwood from BLackpool - What to do? |
|
Hello Again We are all booked to go to Blackpool in November. To pass an afternoon we were thinking of going to Fleetwood or something, would anyone recommend this? Is there anything there to pass a few hours? It would be the Friday afternoon? Also do you get a tram and can anyone tell me the rough price or were I could find the price? Many thanks in advance |

There's not that much in Fleetwood, but if you are going for an afternoon, then you could go to Freeport, designer outlet shops. That will pass a few hours. A tram ride will cost from about £4.00 one way so your best bet is to purchase a day pass, you can purchase this from the conductor on the tram. It will save money straight away, gives unlimited rides on the trams and buses until midnight. Pending on your day the Fleetwood Market should be open but they will be closing for the winter and I think they only open 3 days a week. Hope this helps.

Cleveleys isn't bad for an afternoon. It has shops, cafes, a new prom which has a cinema, pub, restaurants.

I wouldn't really bother with Fleetwood, except for Freeport, but thats a bit hit and miss too. It's not bad for walking gear and sports clothing but the other shops are a bit rubbish. How about an afternoon in St.Annes? Take the no. 11 bus (I think) into the Square and nosey round the shops, then go for an early bird tea (up to 7pm) at one of the nice restaurants on Wood Street (e.g. The Olive Tree, Jacks Bistro), where your meal will cost a 1/3 less than it would if you were to eat later on. If the weather is pleasant you could even walk along the beach to St.Annes from Squires Gate. It takes just over half an hour.

Picking up from honey: Buses nos 7,11,14 to St Annes; 7 and either the 11 or 14 go on to Lytham (further 10 mins). Both Lytham and St Annes are good; Lytham slightly more upmarket with some small individual shops. If you buy a rover type ticket you could very easily do both.
