Recommending good bars depends on your age, likes and dislikes. Can you provide a bit more info please?

If it's family bars, then you wont go wrong with any of the bars on the piers...Laughing Donkey is my personal favourite though.

Manchester family bar is great too and has a soft play area for the kids. When I was down 3 weeks ago pints of Carling were only £1.75 all day Sunday to Thursday which can't be bad. Food very cheap too and surprisingly good for the price.

Further along (southwards) if it's sunny Yates and Dutton Arms have good "sitty outsidey" areas and again kids get in both of them up to a certain hour.

However, as I'm completely biased towards Pleasure Beach then my time in Blackpool isn't complete without a visit to 2 or 3 of their bars. King Cottons inside the park is possibly my favourite place in the country - especially if the sun is shining.

Coasters and the Star are too.

Interestingly I hear that PBB have applied for extended licensing on Ocean Boulevard...

If it's not a family bar, I would head to Queen Street (just north of Talbot Square and North Pier). Lots of good bars all on one street (where the locals tend to go), so minimal walking. You can just stagger from bar to bar.

You also have Walkabout on the corner of Queen Street and Cheapside and Sanuk nightclub a minute's walk away, both of which are open pretty late.

My suggestions might not be appropriate then. You might enjoy Soul Suite though (144 Promenade), just past Talbot Square, going north which is popular with the slighter older clientele - by that I mean that the 18-25 yr olds tend to steer clear!
