We are going as a family of two adults and three under sevens. One child and one adult are not into going on rides. We are trying to work out the cheapest option of doing this and, unfortunatly, dont have enough Tescos points!!! If one child doesnt go on rides but changes her mind to go on one or two are we allowed to pay at the ride?

And, this is a cheeky question, are the wristbands easy to get off?!!!

We only have two days, one for the pleasure beach can anyone suggest something for the other day? The reviews have been mixed for the tower.

Thanks.

You cannot pay at the ride. You can buy a book of tickets which cost £10...anyone can use them. The better the ride...the more tickets you have to hand over. Most children's rides will be 1 or 2 tickets.

You cannot take the wristbands off and re-stick them together.

Bearing in mind the weather! The Tower might be a good option. I can only say that the Circus is great and don't know anything about things to do for kids there.

Two of my guests took their 11 and 7 year old to the tower at the weekend. They had a fantastic time but said the food and drink was a tad expensive. Apparently the circus was brilliant. Enjoy whatever you do.

Hi,

There is lots for under-sevens to do at the Tower: The aquarium; the soft play area; the trip up the Tower and the circus

If you are all only going on small rides, then you can just buy tickets, (minimum purchase 2 tickets for £2 from the machines in the park, or strips from the main kiosks).

See my earlier post for more details:

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186332-i314-k2026…

I second the suggestion of Stanley Park!

:)

Hi again,

Sorry - should have made it clear I was talking about the Pleasure Beach when I mentioned buying strips of tickets!

There is an offer on this website for 'three for the price of two' pleasure beach wristbands that might help - http://kidsvisitfree.pizzahut.co.uk. It also has lots of other similar offers for various attractions.

I saw the Pizza Hut offer but it appears that its for adult wrist bands, believe me its not worth getting the other adult one. Wimp!! Shame its not for 3 kiddies. Will stick to getting one of the a strip of tickets.

Will look into the Park. Is it easy to get to?

Hi,

Stanley Park is easy to get to from the town centre using the Line Four bus route. See below:

Subject to heights the kids get on pretty much all the adult rides anyway so it could still be worth your while going for the adult bands for them.

Most of the rides in the kids park take 2 tickets per child, so even to put 2 kids on the tea-cups is going to cost you the equivalent of £4. Of course over the course of the day these can work out to be pretty expensive and I know from experience that it's not always easy persuading kids to leave the Pleasure Beach !!

Added to that you have rides such as Noah's Ark, The Ghost Train, Derby Racer, Alice in Wonderland and the Flying Machines outwith Beaver Creek which are good for the kids and they are around £3 each. Heck my 5yo even went on the Avalanche last week and it's supposed to be a white knuckle ride !! It's £4 as well !!

Wristbands, in my opinion, definitely the way to go if you plan on spending more than a few hours there.

They're amazingly good value.

We have always had a good day at the zoo opposite Stanley Park..and don't forget the Model Village which is good for an hour or two..kids get a quiz to complete as they are going round.
