I'm going to be in town next weekend and have been trying unsuccessfully to source accommodation = where would be the next best place to provide good access to Southampton Airport where I fly from on Sunday and good connections to the city centre.

Eastleigh? Winchester? Fareham? Botley? Marriott Meon Valley?

There's a big cricket final then not far from the airport, which may be the problem. In which case you may need tolook further afield, eg Portsmouth, Basingstoke. Or somewhere on the main train route (london-Southampton)

Eastleigh would be your best bet.

There is the Holiday Inn in Leigh Road, Eastleigh. It is about a mile and a half from the Airport. Although I live in the borough of Eastleigh, when my plane was delayed once at Southampton airport they put me up there for free, funny thing was I only live 5 mins up the road from there.

Then there is the Premier Inn, also Leigh Road, Eastleigh, which will be cheaper, and is about 100yards doewn the road from the Holiday Inn.

Eastleigh is 5 miles form the centre of southampton, and you can get a train from Eastleigh to Southampton.

There is also the Travel Lodge in Eastleigh, which is 2 and a half miles from teh Airport, and about a mile from Eastleigh train station.
