Hello,

I am helping organise a hen night in Southampton (not until August) and am a bit stuck! Really don't know the area very well. There will be about 15 of us, I am looking for somewhere we can have a meal and then move on to a few bars and cheesy club for some dancing?

Can you suggest anywhere please? Nothing posh for the meal, pasta/pizza etc would be great.

Or instead of moving place to place, do you know of anywhere that has a restaurant and bar/club on the same site?

Anything retro/cheesy would be good for us - I saw a place called reflux - is this any good? Close to places to eat?

Thank you in advance for your help!

We stayed at the Novotel on a recent weekend visit. Very reasonable - nice rooms, nice interior, nice bar and very good breakfast.

Reflex is a cheesy nightclub - ideal for hen nights, and opposite a few restrurants and bars. I have been to one in York and had a very good time.

Loads of resturaunts in town, lots of bars - you should not be disspointed.

Thank you for the Novotel rec, but we only live just over an hour away so have arranged a lift home.

Great, I will check out the restaurants near Reflux then, have you been to any of them?

A hen night is for a bride to be, like her 'last night of freedom' before the wedding. Usually a few weeks before the wedding. The bride to be and her friends get together, the bride may get dressed up and it's just basically a funny night out together! The female equivilent to a stag do for men.

Not sure what you call it in the USA?

Ok right,

Food, head to Oxford Street, its full of restaurants and bars, Pizza Express, Zizzi, an curry place called Kuti's which is lovely but a bit more expensive than your standard curry, Charlie Chans which is a chinese does a fab all you can eat, food is brought out fresh so no food which has been hanging about all night, plus others. Check out oxfordstreetsouthampton.co.uk/restaurants_ba…

Or, go to Leisure world. They have a Frankie and Bennys wth Oceana opening in August, I love the one in Kingston, so would suggest this for your club.

Not heard of Reflex to be honest?

Hope this helps!!

Wow thank you topsy84! I will check out all those suggestions, they are really useful.

I think the club is called Reflex actually, sorry got that wrong! It's in Lower Bannister Street, I will check out how close that is to Oxford Street and Leisure World, ideally we want to walk.

Thanks again for your help.
