Hi Can someone please tell me the quickest way to get to Alton Towers from Bristol, other than car. cheers |

This is a tricky one and I'm not sure if my answer will be any good. There might be train services, but Alton Towers is not really near any large towns. Depending how long you are in Bristol there might be a local bus company doing day trips (a long day admittedly but they probably do it!). Have you tried e mailing Alton Towers? Looking on there website it apears that some train companies will get you to a railway station farily close and then transfer by bus, but its interesting that none of them say from the West of England. Best of luck.

Well if you are only going for a day, I would not bother! Train from Bristol to Birmingham New Strret, change trains to Stoke on Trent then bus from there would seem to be the only practical way.

It is a long way from Bristol to Alton Towers and would make for a long day. There is not really a quick way I am afraid. There are several bus operators in Bristol who do day trips to Alton Towers, mainly in the school holidays (just ending!). You can usually find these in the local evening paper, the Evening Post.

i think it is worth it for a day - Alton Towers is lots of fun. Organised coach trips are pretty reasonable and the cost of about 35 quid covers entry to the park. it is a long day, 7am - 9pm, but you can sleep on the coach and you get a full day at the park. However, i recommend for a good day out go after the kids go back to school as the park will be quieter and the queues far less intimidating. i have found during school holidays queues can be up to 2 hours for one ride. if you go at the end of the season, you can pretty much walk onto alot of rides. some coach companies that run day trips are Bugles, Eagle and you could also try Bakers.

To be clear. Other than car there is no QUICK way to Alton Towers. Adult Tickets on the day are £35.00. In advance via the internet they are £28.00. If you are not going by coach you can add a significant amount of cash for the rail tickets, as well. Childrens tickets are £21.00 in advance via the internet. It's not a cheap (or easy) day out from Bristol. Use the Alton Towers website to help you plan your journey www.altontowers.com
