Take the Bristol Flyer coach from the airport to Temple Meads station, they leave regularly from outside the terminal. Then take the train from Bristol to Cardiff - takes around an hour. The last train back will prob. be around 11-11.30pm.

I think you'd be ok - assuming gates open at 6pm and she comes on by 8.30, I don't think you'll get more than 2 hours out of her! I know if you use National Express, they will wait if a gig runs over - this happened at Wembley last yr & they waited an extra 45 mins or so, which obviously a train will not. Maybe phone the venue & see what they say, as I'm not sure how far the stadium is from station.

The stadium is right next to the central bus/coach/railway station, so depending on which gate you exit it will be between a 5 and 10 minute walk.

Concert is 23 August right? Last train back on a Saturday is 2200.

The last coach is at 1700 - but the first is at 0130 so bar spending the night in Cardiff that looks like the only option.

The only reason i am staying in bristol is that i could not get any sort of reasonably priced accomodation in cardiff so the travel cant be avoided unfortunately

Thanks for all the local knowledge ..always helps ...and will make those enquiries about coaches/train times directly ..etc

Looking forward to getting to bristol/cardiff in the next few weeks.

ps..would prefer a rugby or soccer match at Millennium stadium rather than a Madonna concert (but it will have to do !!)

beware that on sundays the severn tunnel is normally shut for maintenance work so bus link operates between newport and bristol parkway.
