Don't know of any in the centre, also depends on what you mean by good.

Near the arches ( CheltenHam road) there is a very cheap and cheerful indian thats a BYO, my brother-in-law, who is of Indain decend uses this one as do I. It's next door to a shoe shop. Sorry can't remember the name.

St Mark's road, Easton - lots of restaurants - there is a nice indain a moroccan and a good veggie restarant.

You will need to get a cab but both areas are not far from the centre.

i agree with the last post the Raj in kings st -typical indian restaurant but has a good name.

On the Triangle in Clifton there is a very traditional south indian restaurant called Krishnans Inn.

This is a TRUE indian restaurant and this is where Indian people eat.

Husband is indian and would not consider going out for an indian restaurant anywhere else.

But for English taste Raj is good.

Should you get a taxi to st marks road in easton i would suggest you can get a taxi back it is not the best of areas and friends who live in that area find it hard to get home from town at night.

Have a nice meal

Got to be Kathmandu at the bottom of the Colston Tower opposite the Colston Hall. Bang in the centre, fab service, great Indian/Nepalese food (try the Mo Mo dumplings!) and you're not rushed like some Indians - only one sitting so relaxed. V good

a new small restaurant (literally about max ten tables) has opened to quite wide acclaim. It is a family run restaurant and worth trying.

It is in Bedminster on the road after Bedminster Bridge but before Asda. It is 10 mins walk from the harbour at the most. Very reasonable and properr home cooking. It is licenced and i think has Kingfisher lager on tap. I love the homemade chutneys and fresh tasting food which hasn't all been made from the same stock-mix. It can be hard to get a table on Friday and Saturdays.

Quote from site -

" ‘Ganesha’, the Elephant God is the most worshipped deity in India who is also known as ‘Lord of Beginnings’ and ‘Lord of Obstacles’, is the inspiration behind our first venture.

Ganesha Authentic Indian Cuisine is a family run ‘100% Real Indian’ Restaurant. We pride ourselves to offer great value for money by providing top quality food, efficient service, friendship and a warm welcome to our customers. We promise to serve exactly same food as you would find in India. Our unique menu is different than 99% of high street curry houses. We offer selection of dishes from all parts of India, each with a distinct taste and preparation. We specialise in North Indian as well as South Indian food such as Masala Dosa. We concentrate on Southern Indian cooking with abundance of Fish, Seafood, Lamb, Ginger, Coconut and Goan spices.

Our speciality is a fragrant and aromatic cuisine rather than the bog standard Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh and Prawn Bhuna as these dishes don’t exist in India at all. Instead, we offer good selection of exciting dishes that you wouldn’t have seen before on any menu in Bristol such as Aleppy King Prawn, Gosht Kolhapuri, Bhagara Baigan and Murg Mughlai.

We have a good selection of Indian breads from Chapatti to Cheese and Chilli Naan and rice that includes one flavoured with Mango and another with cumin seeds.

We look forward to welcoming you to our small restaurant to enjoy your meal."

If you are in the area they are really worth it and also offer takeaway too.

Love and peace to all.
