transportation to Mississauga |
I am staying near union station. What type of transportation can I take to Mississauga (Square One)? |
The GO train from Union to Port Credit. Bus from outside the station in Port Credit up to Square One. There may be other ways using the subway and bus, perhaps others know more about that than I do.

Hi; Take a northbound subway from Union station to the Bloor line. Transfer to a westbound subway, and take it to Islington station. At the Islington station, transfer to a Mississauga Transit bus to Square One. Best Regards

Hi Beachtraveler1001, I vote for the GO Train... it is quicker and a lot less hassle than the Subway and Bus. I've used it in the past to get to practically the same area of Mississauga as Square One is in. If I recall it will cost you about $ 5 one way, and takes about a half hour or so. Cheers! Hi; The GO Train will cost $4.55 per person from Union Station to Port Credit. Cash fare for Mississauga Transit is $2.75 per person Cash fare for Toronto Transit is also $2.75 per person Best Regards
Thank you How far is it from the terminal where you catch your final bus to the mall? Do the buses run regularly?
I would allow up to two hours for the whole trip whichever way you choose to go. The GO train takes about 25 minutes to Port Credit and the bus will be at least 30 minutes up to Square One. Factor in waiting times and traffic (which is heavy on both bus routes) and it could easily be the best part of 2 hours.

Hi; The subways run very frequently, every 2-3 minutes during rush hour, and every 4-5 minutes outside of rush hour. The bus from the subway to Square One runs approx. every 10 – 15 minutes. I would estimate the trip by subway / bus to take about 1 hour. The GO Train's schedules are designed for commuter transportation, so during the day they can be quite infrequent. Depending on the time of day, taking the GO Train / bus could take as much as two hours. Best Regards

Actually, your best bet is the Milton GO Bus service, which goes directly from Union Station to Square One in under an hour, with buses every 30 minutes or better. The schedule is here: The bus will board at the Union Station GO Bus terminal (south of Front Street, between Bay and Yonge Streets). You can buy your ticket there.

So if I take the Milton GO bus I would go directly to Square One and not have to take a second bus?
That's right -- there is a GO bus terminal right next to the Square One shopping mall. Just watch for two things: - Not every Milton bus goes to Square One. At the terminal, you'll see a sign that lists the destinations, and you can double-check with the driver. - During morning rush hour (from Mississauga/Milton) and afternoon rush hour (to Mississauga/Milton), the route is operated by trains that don't stop at Square One. But if you're heading out there in the morning and coming back in the afternoon/evening, this won't be a problem for you.
