Hi. We are thinking of riding the ferry over to the islands tomorrow but which is the best one to see? Not really sure that we are interested in centreville as it looks kind of cheesy. Thanks.

Centreville is great for very small kids (maybe age 6 and under). Centre Island is still a good starting point for its park, beach, and bike rentals.

However, I'm a fan of Ward's Island, which has a couple of small, car-free neighbourhoods with interesting little cottages. (One of the neighbourhoods is on Algonquin Island, which is reached by a small bridge from the main path.)

You may want to glance at the map here: toronto.ca/parks/…toronto_island_map.pdf .

Keep in mind that you can easily go to one ferry dock and come back from another; they're all easy to find along the main path, and tomorrow should be a great day to wander around.
