Looking for a good after-work place for drinks |
|
I will working in Toronto for a week in September staying at the Residence Inn on Wellington Street in the entertainment district. I am a female about 50 years old and I would like to know of a good place to go after work for drinks and conversation to make some new friends. |

Bars in the Entertainment District definitely skew young. There are lots of nightclubs around, frequented mainly by under-25s. But there are also a few pubs. The Elephant and Castle at King and Simcoe likely has a grown-up clientele (I've only been there for lunch). But if you really want to have a good time, go to the Gladstone Hotel on Queen W. for karaoke: http://www.gladstonehotel.com/karaoke.htm

On Thursday nite after work The Keg on York St is called "The Sexy Keg". I think you'd like it!

Hello there, You may want to try Sen5es for afterwork drinks. It's near your hotel. www.senses.ca/senses_restaurant_bar.html If you're working in the financial district (King St. and Bay St. area) during your week here, Ki is great for an after work drink. http://www.kijapanese.com/bar.html Bier Markt is also good, has a nice outdoor patio. a short walk from the financial district. http://www.thebiermarkt.com/home.html Hope this helps.

You might want to check out the Drake Hotel. Here is a link so you can see if it is something that might appeal to you. Good luck.
