Hello, Where can I buy wine when in St. Johns'?

I've tried to look up liquor stores &/or wine stores

and don't seem successful in finding anything right downtown St. John's.

Thanks, Nicole

You will have to go to a Newfoundland Liquor Corporation Store. Wine & spirit are only sold in NLC stores (in larger towns) or licenced agents (in small places) Go to http://www.nfliquor.com/

Not to worry. There are several liquor stores in St. John's. Can't tell you the exact addresses, but we came across several while driving around town. Just ask! We also had no problem finding stores called "Liquor Express" while travelling around the countryside ---- much smaller selection, but completely adequate.

There used to be a pretty nice wine store in the Murray Premises downtown but it closed when they opened the store at 123 New Gower St. New Gower is the main drag running behind George St that splits into Duckworth & Queens Rd if you're looking up from the harbour. The liquor store is to the west across from the Delta Hotel and I'm told they have a nice wine selection.
