More than a few tourists access the Gros Morne and northern peninsula areas by flying into St. John's and then driving all the way across the island...often, it is because they didn't know there is a commercial airport at Deer Lake. Even the link on this very website ordains St. John's airport as the default choice...... Air Canada(year-round) and Westjet(summer only) both offer scheduled flights in and out of Deer Lake, using aircraft as big as Boeing 737s. Report as inappropriate |

You can also fly to Deer Lake via PAL [Provincial Airlines] which is a much smaller airline, using smaller planes, but they fly to Deer Lake & other NL destinations (as well as outside of the province) on a regular basis. - lingo Report as inappropriate | ||||||
