We are planning a trip in 2 weeks to see the Viking sights in L'anse aux meadows, but don't want to neglect St. Anthony either with its attractions. We want to stay in B and B's. Which place would be better to stay in? Do you recommend any B and B's in particular? Do both areas have a selection of restaurants, etc? We are Seniors and are most interested in the Viking sights, as we have read so much about them. We will be in the area for 2 nights after first visiting Gros Morne.

We just got back from Newfoundland. I can't comment on the lodging issue -- we stayed in cabins, not B&B's -- but both St. Anthony and the L'anse aux Meadows areas had decent restaurant choices. They're close enough to each other that either will will work as a base. We loved L'anse aux Meadows, by the way -- much more to see than we'd expected, and a great park tour guide who has lived in the immediate area all his life. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for your comments. We are so looking forward to the trip. Still would like to hear from any others who have stayed in B and B's in the L'Anse aux Meadows or St. Anthony area.

If you're interested in staying in the L'Anse aux Meadows area then I would suggest Marilyn's B&B in Hay Cove.

Not only is she is right on the doorstep of the Viking Site and Norstead Village but she is a fantastic cook and really goes out of her way to help her guests and make them feel at home.

Enjoy
