go to the left side of this forum and click on Vancouver Hotels.. you will get reviews and prices.. people will tell you what they actually thought of the hotel.. there are a couple of suite hotels that always come up.. downtown is compact so as long as oyu are in the downtown area you will be fine.

imo I like the Sylvia a little old and shop worn but great location and value.

Depending on how long you plan to stay a house/suite vacation rental might also work - for most the minimum is a weekend or a week. You could check Craigslist, vrbo, search on google for "vancouver furnished suites", or check the B&B listings.
