Re: vegetarian I can't think of any decent restaurant in town that doesn't have some good Veg options..there are so many degrees of vegetarians here that restaurants have to offer those choices to stay in business. If you put vegetarian restaurant in the search box in the upper right you will get a few discussions about this in the recent past.

One restaurant that always comes up is the Nam on 4th.. personally I would avoid it..but it is the original Veg haven in town..check for the thread I mentioned but I wouldn't worry about getting good vegetarian food here...far too many good restaurants and not enought time to eat in all of them!

for the worst most tardy service with attitude go to the naam, if that doesn't appeal to you go to yogi's vegetarian indian restaurant on commercial drive

As others mention, Vancouver has lots of good Vegetarian restaurants. Have a look at Happycow.net for reviews and locations. In Kitsilano, two very good eateries are Sejuiced on West 4th), which does rice bowls, and the like, and Planet Veg, which is an Indian inspired fast food place, on Cornwall (near Kits Beach). For a proper restaurant meal, I have really taken to Dharma Kitchen on the far end of West Broadway. Lovely meals in a nice atmosphere. The rice pudding is amazing there!

The Naam is a little old fashioned in its approach to vegetarian food, and though I have heard of attitude, etc., from staff I have never experienced it.
