Hi elaineKent;

You could spend an entire week in Toronto and still have plenty to see and do !

Vancouver is approx. 2811 miles / 4383 km west of Toronto.

There is cross country bus & rail service. By either mode of transportation, the ride is approximately 3 days in duration.

Cross country flights are very expensive within Canada. There are only two airlines for this trip.

Best Regards

I think Rescue Team has given you some good information to consider. One consideration is that internal flights tend to be cheaper in the US. You could look at crossing into the States south of Toronto and getting a cheap flight across to Seattle or even Bellingham.

When you look at the extra costs of food, neither train nor bus save you much money over flying, but they do provide a view of the country.

YOu might also look into flying Toronto - Calgary, then just going overland between Calgary and Vancouver through the mountains, either on a tour, by train or rent a car.
