Hey, I'm from Ireland and I am going to be in Vancouver for a very important date, 21st September, the day of the all ireland gaelic football final, and my home county is in the final. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of where I could watch the match, if any Irish pubs will be opening early to show it (it starts around 3pm GMT) or if any tv stations will be airing it. Any suggestions kindly appreciated!

Pacific Daylight Time is GMT-7. That makes it an 8:00 am start and well before regulated pub openings usually closer to 11:00am. I'd be surprised if any stations will be airing it.

Hi, just did a google on irish pubs in vancouver and it seems like the only one owned and run by irish people is the Irish Heather (www.irishheather.com). Give them a ring, they'll probably point you in the right direction. Let us know how you get on, I'm heading that way next month.

PS We are actually in British Summer Time at the moment so the match is on at 3.30pm, it would be 7.30am in Vancouver.

We're on summer time as well, until mid-November sometime.

contact the Irish Heather for sure. i believe they're licensed as both a bar and a restaurant, so they may be open that early and airing the game.

they will likely be your best bet. (plus, it's a wicked fun place with excellent food)

The Dover Inn on Denman. Opens really early and is a favorite for ex-pat Irishmen. I am sure they will have the game on. I can introduce you to some of the regulars via email if you would like.
