Disembarking from Cruiseline |

We will be visitin Vancouver in September after taking an Alaskan Cruise. Does anyone have suggestions on transportation from the pier? and also any suggestion on Must see things in Vancouver as well as Victoria? Thanks so much for the help! |

You need to find out which pier - Canada Place or Ballentine. It makes a difference. If you click on Things to Do on the left hand side of the page and then look at the article "Suggested Itineraries" it lists the majority of popular attractions for the Vancouver area.

Do you know which hotel you will be staying at yet? Will you have a car? That will help with everyone's suggestions!!

I can't seem to find any information on transportation from the pier. I am wondering if we can get a room at the Delta, from the map I found it looks like it is very near. We are also trying to work out transportation to the Victoria ferry. Can you help me with that? I've done fairly well planning...I've hit a bump. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you!

Most downtown hotels are only a ten minute cab ride from the pier...if it is Canada Place where you are landing...be sure to check. Depending on how long you are staying in Vancouver I would also look at hotels like the Blue Horizon.. the Delta is close to the pier but not ideal IMO for visiting Vancouver. To get to Victoria the easiest is to take Pacific Coach Lines.. it is a bus to the ferry, ferry, then bus to Victoria..PCL has a package. check www.pacific coach.com for fares. The ferries don't run as often in September so your options will be more limited. Another good way to do a day trip to Victoria is to fly over in the morning, harbor to harbor, with either Harbor or or Helijet..spend the day in Victoria then take the bus and ferry back to Vancouver. This gives you much more time in Victoria as the ferry/bus ride is almost 3 hours one way..and the flight is spectacular.
