Hi

My best friend is getting married this September and they are coming to Vancouver for their honeymoon.I really wanted to buy them their honeymoon night hotel room as a wedding gift but they got a package deal :(

Now I am thinking about making one day special for them in Vancouver.I have never been to Vancouver but can any of you suggest me something special for this lovely couple?

Maybe a dinner at a special restaurant,a sight seeing trip or anything for which I can pay over the internet/phone and let them have fun!

I know it might be a tough thing to look for but I really hope I can get some advice.I have always got great info at trip advisor so thanks to you all.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Not knowing what they might like...

I saw somewhere something about a sea plane flight over the harbour ending at Bowen Island for dinner at Doc Martens. Now, Doc Martens is not fine dining, it's more of a casual place (or was last time I was there), but it would be a really special experience. I also think that some of the sea kayaking places do romantic evening paddles and candlelight picnics on remote beaches.

If that's a bit out "out there" for this couple, then there are several companies that do dinner cruises on the harbour. That would be a special night.

As a final option, Cloud 9 is a revolving restaurant that over looks English Bay. You could arrange for a limosine to pick them up, deliver them to dinner and then take them for a ride around Stanley Park.

Thanks for your quick reply.

All of these sound amazing. They are a pretty laid back and fun couple.Someone who would love fine dinning as much as a casual place.

Do you have any websites for these places. My friends will be flying from Texas.

Thanks once again :)

As another option, Beverly's Spa (and probably others as well) do couples packages (massages, facials, etc).

For something really out there, there is a hamman (turkish steam bath) and they have couple days:

sorry, it's Doc Morgan's on Bowen Island. Here's the link. Haven't found the tour that includes the float plane yet, but someone mentioned here on the forum a few weeks back, so you could hunt around for it.

Also, see what's listed at www.hellobc.com

I have to do this in bits and pieces because I can't remember what I suggested!! ;>

Here's a couple of well-established sea kayaking outfits to check out:

http://www.deepcovekayak.com/

there are others, but I like the locations of these two a beautiful and fairly safe places to paddle.

Check out http://www.whistlermountaineer.com/ and consider either the train up and back (lunch in between)or a combo train/flight. Not cheap, but memorable and spectacular.

Here's the link for what the previous poster suggested... floatplane to Bowen Island with Dinner at Dog Morgans and return via limo.

www.harbour-air.com/tours.php…

They also offer a trip that goes to a remote lake with lunch. Or just a scenic floatplane tour may do the trick.

Price of Whales offers a round trip Victoria day with Whale Watching and option to return via floatplane. You can probably book them in for High Tea at the Empress (over priced, but a nice experience).

We just had friends visit here from Baltimore. We put them in touch with a driver and limo who took them on a private tour of Vancouver. They thought it was a fantastic way to see the city without having to be on a bus driver's schedule. We organized a few dinners for them too. Perhaps you can do something similar. Private tour of the city ending at one of the many fabulous restaurants in the city. If you tell me what kind of food they like I can suggest a restaurant.

Do your friends golf? The Vancouver area has many nice courses with restaurants for dinner afterwards.

The Whistler Mountaineer train excursion is also a great suggestion too.

They can also take the BC Ferry from Vancouver (l.5 hours each way) and spend the day sightseeing in Victoria.

To help with more suggestions, what are their ages and some of their interests??
