Transportation from Cancun Airport to EDSS? |
|
Hey everyone - we will be traveling to EDSS and are trying to determine the best transportation method from Cancun Airport to the hotel. We have found a number of shuttle services providing either 7-10 person vans or private cars. We wanted to see if anyone had any company recommendations and whether or not it is worth the extra money for a private car? Thanks in advance.

The biggest advantage to private transfer services is that you will arrive non-stop in just over an hour's time from the airport, whereas the group transfer can take much longer, depending upon which resorts they need to stop at along the way! There are several excellent transfer companies including Lomas and Cancun Limo. Hope this helps!

If you have a transfer included in your package, then I really don't see the point of paying for one UNLESS you get the private tranfer. If you are gonna end up in a 7-10 passenger van with people going to a bunch of different resorts, then to me that seems the same as using the included transfer (assuming one is provided with your package) except that now you're paying for it. If you are going to do a private transfer then go for it, you will arrive quicker, it's up to you to decide if you think it's worth the money. We did the transfer included with our package, but I read about a lot of people using Lomas.

I have used AGI many times to and from the Palladium which is near EDS. They are reliable, have new AC vehicles and are priced cometitvely. Their prices are based on # of people, ie 1-2 paggengers 2-4, etc. It is definitely worth it to hire a private, direct transfer in my opinion. You can get a price sheet on the Unofficial P site or email them at their site agitours dot com.

We had a late flight and wanted to go straight to the hotel instead of sharing a van and stopping at other resorts, so we went with a private transfer with Lomas. We rode in a large van one way and a Navigator the other. The drivers were great...very helpful... and their pricing was reasonable. We will definitely use them again!

I agree that a private transfer is the way to go. Another very good company is USA Transfers with Entertainment Plus (entertainment-plus.net)

We have used Lomas travel for our 7 visits to the EDSS and will be using them for our visit this year to El Dorado Maroma. Depending on the day and the amount of traffic it can take over an hour and half to get to the EDSS with a private transfer. Our longest was about 1 hour 40 minutes due to construction and a ton of traffic in Playa del Carmen, normally it is around 1 hour 15 minutes or so.

From now on, for private transfers, we will only use LOMAS TRAVEL! We have always gotten what we paid for with them & Gabriel Estrada @ EDSS. CT

Been to EDSS 6 times, EDR 7 times, and EDM 1 time - we only use Lomas and always get a private car. We have never had any problem whatsoever. Lomas is the only way to go in our opinion.

We're going in December and are using Olympus Tours for airport to resort transportation. Anything we need to know?
