I am not certain that any of the information of hotel closings and re-openings are true. Anybody on the ground down there to check out the hotels to the north between the Tulum road and the ruins?

Either it is or is not.

we were there this past week. a lot of the hotels have big banners saying "CLAUSURADO" on them, but are still operating. i.e. mezzanine

we walked by El Pariaso and it was obviously closed down, but a few days later we walked by the front of the hotel, and it says open, so it looks like they are open again.

i would just email the hotel you're interested in to see if they are operating.

it ws just a handful on the northbeach that were "clausurado."

Thanks for the on the spot report. I asume that all the hotels on the north road towards Tulum ruins recently closed by the Mexican government have now reopened? This crisis has blown over for the mean time?

It would be very interesting to read a trip report from someone who has recently stayed at the reopned hotel on the north bech of Tulum. If you look at the TA listing for Mezzanine you wouldn't have a clue about the drama of the past month. Are they still rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic?
